Furze Field is set in the Sussex countryside just near Arundel, it is not far from Littlehampton beach and there are also a few pubs within walking distance, so a pretty handy location! It is however close to the A27 and so, depending on where you set up camp the noise from the road can be loud. I say where you set up camp because there are actually different fields available depending on the number of people in your group and what you want. The fields are owned by a lovely lady called Caroline who also runs stables, so there is one big field which is beautiful, but on sunny days it has no shade, unless you provide it yourself, and then she has a couple of little paddocks round the back! These are smaller and the ground is a bit bumpier, but it is shady and if there are enough of you, you have the Image may be NSFW.

whole paddock to yourself and for me it is magical. It is more wooded, so the noise from the road is muffled and there is shade when it is sunny. If your kids are that little bit older there are fields that they can go and run through, but there is also plenty of room and things for younger children to do in the paddocks and you can have fires! If you want the whole paddock there is enough room for 5 families and we have taken paddling pools, slack lines and really made the place our own!

Just to be clear this is wild camping – there are no showers or mod cons, the only water comes from a hose pipe that is part of the stables, but on hot days it is a welcome shower! Also people come and go from the stables so you share the limited parking spaces. The loo that is for the campers is also right next to the area where they put the horse poo when they clean out the stables! Still, having said all of this it is a really beautiful spot and without doubt one of my most favourite places to Image may be NSFW.

camp. If you stay in the paddock you cannot get camper vans in so they would have to set up in the car park, but in the main field there is plenty of room for campers! Last season the price was £8 a night – children under 5 go free.
