We visited Kitts last year with a troop of kids. It is located in an idyllic spot between Haywards Heath & Lewes so an easy drive from Brighton. The site is basically a very large field with some wooded areas which are fantastic for the children to play and build camps, there are also a couple of rope swings which the kids loved. The owner, James sets it up so there is an area for families, another area for groups and then another separate areas if you are not with the kids. Campfires are allowed in the firepits and you can purchase wood and kindling on site to make it happen. There are flushing loos and showers. There is also a sheltered area to wash your plates with hot and cold water. There is nowhere to put your rubbish so this needs to be taken with you.
The site is beautiful and you can get some great views from the top of the hill. There are lots of public footpaths, one of which leads to the Bluebell Railway which is always a fun afternoon hike. It’s a great site to get back to nature, quiet and peaceful, there’s also a pretty good pub less than ten minutes walk away! For more information please visit http://kittscamp.co.uk
